A BOOK OF NURSERY RHYMES

He went for water with a sieve,
   But soon it all ran through;
And now poor Simple Simon
   Bids you all adieu.




When little Fred went to bed
He always said his prayers.
He kissed mamma and then papa,
And straightway went upstairs.




   Cross-patch,
   Draw the latch,
Sit by the fire and spin;
   Take a cup,
   And drink it up,
Then call your neighbors in.




The girl in the lane, that couldn't speak
     plain,
   Cried "Gobble, gobble, gobble:"
The man on the hill, that couldn't stand still,
   Went hobble, hobble, hobble.
