Cut off all but about an eighth of an inch of the seam at the joining of the flounce and petticoat on the wrong side, fold under the raw edge of the bias strip and stitch it flat over the raw edges of the seam as shownFig. (119) Ball and socket snaps make a neat petticoat closing in Fig. 118.

Finish the placket with ball and socket snaps. These lie flatter than hooks and eyes or buttons. (See Fig. 119.)
