FIrſt the Preface, wherein is ſhewed, that this maner of teaching is after the councell of the excellent Latine rethorician Quintilian, who died aboue. xv. C. yeres paſt: And which ſort of the learned liuing doe wiſhe the furtheraunce thereof: with examples after what ſort our predeceſſors and we haue bene heretofore taught to miſname our letters, to the hinderance of all the willing to learne.

2 Then followeth the newe maner of teaching, whereby who ſo can reade Engliſh onely, may alone learne the order folowing, and ſo bee able to teach the ſame to others that knowe no letter, to reade thereafter in a very ſhort time.

3 Thirdly and laſt, there is in a great letter, the Chriſtian beliefe, the ten Commaundmentes of God, and the Lordes prayer, where the ſillables are ſundered, for the eaſe of all learners olde or yong.
