A, usually unexpressed; expressed by a numeral followed by its classifier, thus, a man, ih-go nying’ 一個º人º; — pen, ih-ts pih’ 一枝筆; — book, ih-peng shü’ 一本書. For classifiers see The Nyingpo Primer 寧波土º話º初º學º

Abacus, sön’-bun 算盤 (ih-min); do you understand the —? ng sön’-bun hyiao’-teh feh 你º算盤曉得否º?

Abandon, to ky‘i’-diao 棄了º; tiu’-diao 丟去º, or 丟了º; djih’-diao 絕了º; gwæn’-diao 摜º去º

Abandoned, infant — by its mother, na-hwun’ be ah-nyiang’ tiu’-diao-de 嬰º孩º被阿娘丟去º了º; left off entirely (as the use of strong drinks, &c.), üong’-yün ka’-de 永遠戒º了º; morally —, yu-sô’-peh-ts 無所不至
