History and genre painter, son of, and first instructed by, Friedrich Christoph Georg Lenthe (1774-1851, whose portrait, by himself, is in the Schwerin Gallery), then pupil of Dresden Academy under Ketsch, sician feeling Lady's Pulse (copy after Netscher's picture in Dresden Gallery).
