deal for the porcelain factory at Sèvres.

OS, JAN VAN, born at Middelharnis,
baptized Feb. 23, 1744, died at The Hague,
Feb. 7, 1808. Fruit and flower painter,
pupil of Aart Schouman, but took Jan van
Huysum entirely for his model, and in his
best works equalled him in colouring. He
also painted good marines. Was director
of the Academy of Belles Lettres at The
Hague, and author of several books. Works:
