Susan Sophia Cavendish, Bed- chamber-woman to the Queen, 1837 53, eldest daughter of the 1st Baron Chesham. Brother living, The Right Hon. Henry Bouverie William BRAND, M.P., P.C., heir presumptive, b. 1814 ; was sometime Private Secretary to Sir George Grey; a Lord of the Treasury, 18558 ; Keeper of the Privy Seal to the Prince of Wales, 1858 ; and Parliamentary Secretary to the Treasury, 1859 66 ; is a Dep. Lieut, and a Magistrate for Sussex ; was M.P. for Lewes (L.) 1852 68, when he was returned for Cambridgeshire ; was chosen Speaker of the House of Commons Feb. 1872, and again in 1874: m. 1838, Eliza, daughter of Gen. Robert Ellice, and has, with other issue, Henry Robert, late M.P. for Strond, and late Capt. in the Coldstream Guards -, b. 1841. Assumed for himself and his eldest son (the present peer) the additional surname of Trevor, 1824 : m. July 24, 18<>6, Pyne, daughter of the Very Rev, Maurice Crosbie, Dean of Limerick, (she d. 1344) : and d. June 2, 1853, having had issue three sons and four daughters.
