Nov. 9, 1784; and succeeded his father, Nov. l, 1810: m. 1st, April 5, 1821, Frances Charlotte, daughter of the 2nd Earl Talbot, (she d. 1823) ; 2ndly, Oct. 25, 18-28, Frances, daughter of the 5th Viscount Barring- ton, (she d. 1849) : and d. Nov. 22, 1853, having had issue from his first marriage, two sons, and from his second marriage six sons and rune daughters. DARTREY, EARL OF. (DAWSON.) RICHARD DAWSON, K.P., 1st Earl. Born Sept. 7th, 181 7 ; succeeded his father as 3rd Baron Cremorne in 1827, and was created Earl of Dartrey, 1866; edu- cated at Eton ; was a Lord in Waiting to the Queen, 18578, and 185966; is Lord Lieut, of co. Monaghan : married (1841) Augusta, 2nd daughter of the late Edward Stanley, Esq. of Cross-hall, Lan- cashire, and has issue, living, Sons, Vesey, Lord Cremorne, b. 1842; was Always propihous. educated at Eton; entered the Coldstream Guards as Ensign and Lieut. 1859, became Lieut, and Capt. 1865, and Capt. and Lieut.- Col. 1871 : was M.P. for Monaghan (L) 1865 8, and is a Magistrate and Dep.-Lieut. for that county.
