- The late Baron De Freyne, in a letter addressed to the editor in 1865, stated,
"that in 1851 he was married, by a Roman Catholic clergyman to Miss Catherine Maree ; and, a question having arisen as to the validity of that marriage, she being a Roman Catholic and he a Protestant, they were again married in the Established Church."
