REGINALD WINDSOR SACKVILLE, 7th Earl, son of the 5th Earl Delawarr, by Elizabeth, who was created Baroness Buckhurst, daughter of the 3rd Duke of Dorset. Born Feb. 7th, 1817 ; succeeded his mother as 2nd Baron Buckhurst 1870, and his brother as 7th Earl Delawarr 1873. Educated at Balliol College, Oxford (B.A 1838, M.A. 1842). Is High Steward of the borough of Stratford-on-Avon, a Magistrate for Kent, Sussex, and Cam- Either complete, or do not attempt, bridgeshire, and a Dep. Lieut, of Cam- bridgeshire and Sussex. Assumed by royal licence in 1871 the surname of Sackville only, in lieu of Sackville- West. Married (1867) Constance Mary Elizabeth, eldest daughter of A. D. R. W. Club, Carlton. DELAWARE, Earl, His lordship's predecessor was his brother, Charles Richard SACKVILLE-WEST, K.C.B., 6th Earl Delawarr. He was b. Nov. 13, 1815, and succeeded his father in 1869. Educated at Harrow. Entered the 43rd Foot 1833, became Capt. 21st Fusiliers 1842, Major in the Army 1846, Brevet-Col, for distinguished servicee 1855, and Major-Gen. 1864. Served in the Sutlej campaign 1845 6, as Aide-de-Camp to Viscount Gough, at the battles of Moodkee and Ferozeshah, and as Military Secretary during the remainder of the campaign ; was present at Sobraon, and received medal and clasps. Served in the Crimea, including the battles of the Alma and Balaclava, and com- manded a detached wing of the 21st Fusiliers at Inkermann, and also that regiment during the siege of Sebastopol. In the expedition to Kmbourn was in command of a Brigade, and afterwards commanded one at Shorncliffe camp. Was an officer of the Legion of Honor, and a Knight of the Medjidie, and was the recipient of the Crimean medal and clasps, and the Sardinian and Turkish medals.
