Col. of the 1st Lancashire Rifle Volunteers, a Governor of the Charter- house, an Elder Brother of the Trinity House, and Lord Rector of the University of Glasgow (1834) ; was M.P. for Stockbridge, 18206, for Preston, 182630, for Windsor, 18302, and North Lancashire, 183246; was called to the House of Lords during the lifetime of his father, 1846: m. May 31, 1825, the Hon. Emma Caroline Wilbraham, 2nd daughter of the 1st Baron Skelmersdale ; and d, Oct. 23, 1869, having had issue four sons and two daughters.
