(Crest, On a chapeau, gules, turned up ermine, a sea lion's head, erased, argent, gorged with a naval crown, azure, holding in the mouth a flag- staff, in bend sinister, proper, therefrom flowing a banner, azure, having inscribed thereon " Marack," in letters of gold. K.C.H. 1st Baron Lyons. He was b. Nov. fil, 1790; entered the Royal Navy at an early age, and during the French war conducted himself with great gallantry and distinction; in 1814, he received post rank ; was Minister at Athens, J835 49, and at Stockholm, 1851 5 ; was appointed 1 tn the latter year to command the Mediterranean Fleet, and gained great renown for nis conduct throughout the Crimean war. He was, in 1840, made a Baronet, and in 1856, was raised to the Peerage; was a Knight of several Foreign Orders: m. July 18, 1814, Augusta Louisa, daughter of Captain J. Rogers, R.N. (she d. 1852); and d. Nov. 23, 1858, having had issue two sons and two daughters. Lysaght, family name of Baron Lisle.
