Born Feb. 9th, 1840; succeeded his father in 1852 ; was educated at Eton, and at Christ Church, Oxford; has been Lieut, in the 3rd Sussex Rifle Volunteers, and also in the Ayrshire Yeomanry Cavalry; is a Magistrate for Suffolk, of which county he was High Sheriff, 1870, and Major West Suffolk Yeomanry Cavalry. Has sat as M.P. for Suffolk By labour and honesty.
