Placing Kure (Ocean) Island, Territory of Hawaii, Under the Control and Jurisdiction of the Secretary of the Navy

By virtue of and pursuant to the authority vested in me by section 91 of the act of April 30, 1900, 31 Stat. 141, 159, as amended by section 7 of the act of May 27, 1910, 36 Star. 443,447, and as President of the United States, it is ordered that Kure (Ocean) Island, being under the sovereignty of the Territory of Hawaii, and located in the Pacific Ocean approximately in the latitude 28°25' North and longitude 178°25' West from Greenwich, together with the stirrounding reef as indicated upon the diagram hereto attached and nade a part hereof, be, and it is hereby, reserved, set aside, and placed mder the control and jurisdiction of the Secretary of the Navy for naval purposes.
This order shall continue in full force and effect unless and until revoked by the President or by act of Congress.
