PREBENDARIES. 351 SECOND STALL. John Redman or Redmayne, S.T.P., archdeacon of Taunton^ was appointed the first in this stall, 17th Dec. 1540. He became master of Trinity college, Cambridge. Ob. 4th Nov. 1551. Alexander Nowell was installed 5th Dec. 155 1, loco Johannis Redman 44. He became dean of St. Paul's, London. John Ricarde or Richarde, was installed 12th May J 554, loco Alex. Nowell^. Prebendaries of this stall since the settlement hy queen Elizabeth. Humphrey Perkyns, S.T.P., was named to this stall by the Queen's patent, dated 21st June i 560^^. John Read, S.T.B., succeeded Perkins in this stall in 1577. He died in April 1587. Richard Wood, S.T.B., succeeded 9th May 1587. He died at Stisted in Essex, before 27th Sept. 1609. Henry C^sar, alias Adelmare, succeeded Wood 27th Sept. 1609, and resigned 14th Dec. 1625. ^^ be- came dean of Ely in 1614. Thomas Wilson, S.T.B., was installed 10th Jan. 1624-5, and died in the time of the Rebellion. THIRD STALL. Edward Laughton or Leighton, was appointed the first in this stall, 17th Dec. i.540.
