Master Vacem was prebendary either of Overhall or Tertia Pars about i 20c, in the time of Geoffrey Plan- tagenet, archbishop of York ^4. Alan de Ripun was succeeded by Robert de Lexin- TON in the year 1214^-'. They were prebendaries either of Overhall or Palishall^^. Robert de Lexinton was a Judge from 1220 to 1243 ^7: he died in 1250^^. Walter de Tanay succeeded Robert de Lexinton. He was canon of Southwell as early as 1 244. He is called sometimes archdeacon of Nottingham, at other times archdeacon of the East-Riding ^9. Mr. Paulinus is placed by Torre as prebendary of Palishall somewhere between 1280 and 1298. This seems to be a mistake. Probably he was prebendary of Tertia Pars ; which prebend, in pope Nicholas's Taxation A. D. 1291, is called " Prebenda Paulini." John de Denton, according to Torre, was collated to Palishall 9th Dec. 1333. Probably, however, he was prebendary of Tertia Pars. Robert de Sand ale, prebendary of Norwell, died shortly before Trinity Sunday 136 1***^. He also was probably prebendary of Tertia Pars. OXTON, OR OXTON AND CROPWELL, PRIMA PARS. This prebend was founded, at the latest, soon after the Conquest: endowed with half the great tithes of Oxton and Cropwell-Bishop, certain tithes in Blidworth, Cal- vorton, and Woodburgh, and with certain temporals in Oxton, Cropwell-Bishop, Blidworth, Calverton, and Hickling. 44 White Book. 47 Dugdale'sOrig.
