Edward Copley, M.A., fellow of Merton college^ was substituted (by the same authority that ejected his predecessor) 30th Oct. 1648. He died 24th March following, and was buried in the chapel belonging to Merton college. Henry Wilkinson, S.T.B., principal of 3Iagdalen hall^ succeeded the same day his predecessor died, viz. 24th March 1648—9. Francis Howell, M^A., fellow of Exeter college, 25th March 1654. William Carpender, M.A., student of Christ Church, 7th Oct. 1657. Francis Palmer, M.A., student of Christ Churchy was elected 6th Dec. 1660. Andrew Crispe, ^,., fellow of Corpus Christi college, was elected 7th Oct. 1664. Nathaniel Hodges, M.A., student of Christ Church, was elected 28th Sept. 1668. Abraham Campion,M. A., of Trinity college, was elected 2ist Nov. 1673. Senior proctor at the same time '^7. Baptist Levinz, M.A., of Magdalen college, was elected 27th March 1677. Afterwards bishop of the Isle of Man. John Halton, M.A., of Queen's college, was elected about 7th April 1682. John Barnard, M.A., of Brasenose college, was elected 28th March 1687. William Christmas, M.A., of New college, succeeded in the latter end of Dec. 1688.
