Dibble, Sheldon, missionary, author, was born Jan. 23, 1809, in Skaneateles, N.Y. He was a missionary to the Sandwich Islands. He was the author of History of the Sandwich Island Missions. He died Jan. 22, 1845, in the Hawaiian Islands. Dibell, Homer B., lawyer, jurist. He is judge of the eleventh judicial district court of Minnesota for the term of 1906-13; and resides in Duluth, Minn,. Dibrell George Gibbs, soldier, merchant, congressman, was born April 12, 1822, in White county, Tenn. In 1861 he was elected to the legislature of Tennessee, but volunteered in the confederate service and was made brigadier-general in 1864. He was elected president of the Southwestern railroad. In 187585 he was a representative from Tennessee to the forty-fourth, forty-fifth, forty-sixth, forty-seventh and forty-eighth congresses as a democrat. He died May 9, 1888, in Sparta, S.C.

He was United States minister to Columbia in 1878-81. Dick, Charles, lawyer, congressman, was born Nov. 3, 1858, in Akron, Ohio. In 18991905 he was a representative from Ohio to
the fifty-sixth, fifty-seventh and fifty-eighth congresses as a republican. In 1905-11 he was a member of the United States senate. Dick, George Frederick, soldier, was born in Germany. In 1861 he was captain in the

He was elected a, delegate to the state constitutional convention of 1861 and 1865. He was a state senator in 1864-65; was an associate justice of the supreme court of North Carolina in 1868-72; and in 1873-98 was United States district judge for the western district of North Carolina.
