graphs. Felton, Charles N., state legislator, congressman, United States senator, was born in 1832, in Erie county, N.Y. He served two terms as a representative in the California legislature. He served as officer of the United States mint at San Francisco for six years, a' part of the time as assistant treasurer, and the remainder as treasurer of the mint. In 1885-89 he was a representative from California to the fortyninth and fiftieth congresses as a republican; and in 1891-93 he was a United States senator to fill a vacancy.
