He has been extensively engaged in the lumber business for many years; and owns an ice plant at Hartford, Ind. In 1899-1911 he was a representative from Michigan to the fifty-sixth fifty-seventh, fifty-eighth, fifty-ninth, sixtieth and sixty-first congresses as a republican.
