Mystery; Moncasket Law, a handbook; and has contributed extensively to the leading magazines and reviews of America. Coghlan, Joseph Bullock, naval officer, was born Dec. 8, 1844, in Frankfort, Ky. In 1866 he was promoted to lieutenant; and was made lieutenant-commander in 1868. He was promoted to commander in 1882; and captain in 1896; from 1897 commanded the Ealeigh on the Asiatic station, taking part in the brilliant naval battle of Manila Jaay. He died in 1908 in Washington, D.C.

Cogswell, Frederick Hull, lawyer, lecturer, author, was born March 11, 1859, in New Preston, Conn. In 1884 he became official reporter of the superior court at New Haven, Conn. In 1884 he published Cogswell's Compendium of Phonography; and was the author of The Regicides, an historical novel; and a second novel entitled Newgate. He died in 1907. Cogswell, Henry D., founder, philanthropist, was bom in 1820. He founded Cogswell college. He died July 9, 1900, in San Francisco, Cal.
