Gooch, Daniel W., lawyer, congressman,

was born Jan. 8, 1820, in Wells, Maine. In 1852 he was elected to the Massachusetts state Jegislature and in 1853 to the consti;.

tutional convention of the state. In 185765 and 1873-75 he was a representative from Massachusetts to the thirty-fifth, thirtysixth, thirty- seventh, thirty-eighth, and the forty-third congresses. He died Nov. 1, 1891, in Melrose, Mass. Gooch, Edward S., physician, surgeon. In 1896 he graduated from the Hospital college of medicine of Louisville, Ky. and is now one of the foremost physicians of Illinois at Carrollton. Gooch, Frank Austin, educator, chemist, author, was born May 2, 1852, in Watertown, Mass. tn 1881-84 he was chief chemist of the northern transcontinental survey; and in 1884-86 assistant chemist to the United States geological survey in Washington. In 1886 he was appointed professor of chemistry in Yale. Gooch, Joel M., physician, surgeon. In 1883 he graduated from the medical department of Tulane university of New Orleans, La.; and is now one of the foremost physicians of Texas at Temple. He is secretary of the Bell county association of physicians and surgeons; and medical examiner for the

Good, James Isaac, clergyman, author, was born Dec. 31, 1850, in York, Pa. He is a clergyman of the German reformed church; and professor in Ursinus theological seminary in 3890-93. He is the author of Origin of the Reformed Church of Germany; and Rambler Around Reformed Lands. Good, James Michener, educator, pharmacist, was born Jan. 12, 1842, in Bucks county. Pa. Since 1876 he has been professor of pharmacy in the St. Louis college of pharmacy. In 1895 lie was elected president of the American pharmaceutical association. Good, Jeremiah Haak, clergyman, founder, was born Nov. 22, 1823, in Rehrersburg, Pa. At Tiffin he took an active part in establishing Heidelberg college, the new theological seminary and a classical school. He was one of the translators of a new edition of the Heidelberg catechism; and published a new hymnal and a prayer-book. He died Jan. 25, 1888, in Tiffin, Ohio.
