Wall of a temple at Malta. known to the Phoenicians, but it is none the less certain that the only really ancient building in Phoenicia in which this channelled masonry has been encountered is the tomb at Marath, known as the Burdj-el-Bezzak, or " Tower of the Snail " (Fig. 6).
