Ordained 1858 | Pure in heart, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord. | He laboured in Ireland, in Spain, and in | Italy, and in 1877 was appointed to | Christ Church, Jerusalem, | whence he departed to be with Christ, in everything | giving thanks, June 6, 1878. | In his life were seen the fruits of the Spirit, in his death | That peace which passeth under- standing. On a marble cenotaph. A Hebrew inscription is on the other side.
