MEMBERSHIP. -Every Man or Woman throughout the United Kingdom, whether Pulilisher, Wholesaler, Retailer, Employer, or Kmploved, is entitle<l to become a Member of this Institution, and enjoy its benefits uiM)ii payment of Five Shillings annually, or Three Guinea* for life, provided that he or she is engaged in the sale of NewHiKipers, and such Members who thus contribute secure priority or consideration in the event of their needing aid from the Institution.

PENSIONS. The Annuitants now number Thirty-six, the Men receiving '2'>l. and the Women 20f. )x:r annum each.

The "Royal Victoria Pension Fund," commemorating the great advantages the News Trade enjoyed under the rul of Her late .Mjijesty Oueeii Victoria, provides JwL a year each for Six Widows of NcwMrndors.

The " Francis Fund" provides Pensions for One Man. 25J., and One Woman ao/., and was specially subset-Hied in memory of the late John ('rancis, who died on April 6, 1888, and WM for more than fifty years Publisher of the Atlienieitm. He took an active and leading part throughout the whole period of the agitation for the repeal of the various then existing "Taxes on Knowledge," and was for very many years a staunch supporter of this Institution.

The "Horace Marshall Pension Fund" is the gift of the late Mr. Horace Brooks Marshall. The smptoydt of that firm have primary right of election to its benefits.

The "Herbert Lloyd Pension Fund" provides 252. per annum for one man, in peri>etual and grateful memory of Mr. Herbert Lloyd, who died May 1'J. WU.

RELIEF. Temporary relief is given in cases of distress, not only to Memliers of the Institution, but to Newsvendors or their servants who may be recommended for assistance by Members of the Institu- tion.
