SEPTEMBER 30.

Landed stores at head of creek, hard work to get them through the mud and water to the dray; loaded and went to McCourt's camp.

OCTOBER 1 to 9.

Boating and carting stores still, mustering sheep, horses and bullocks, men erecting temporary yards. Self writing, in which I am rather in arrears, still weak from sickness, from 4th to 30th.

OCTOBER 10.

McCourt and self preparing for DeGrey trip. Dixon and Joe putting up shade for men; & stores which cannot be put in tent. Barrigal out after stallion (in hobbles, not seen for a day or two; though sought.) Barrigal brought news of arrival of "Mystery" with letters and stores from Fremantle.

OCTOBER 11.

Started for Bay to board ship, too late and vessel too distant to board at night. Went on board at 7 a.m. to make inquiries of intended movements etc.

OCTOBER 13.

Started at 3.30 to inspect run with Mr Taylor and McCourt; camped on plain 3 miles S.E. of conical hill, now named "Hall's Hill". (d)
