Or all, this fleeting life imparts, For this--for this, alone, I sigh, To build myself, in gentle hearts, A shrine of lasting memory; Where Love his sacred vows shall pay, Hourly, throughout long absent years; And Piety, sweet seraph, lay Her warmest incense, and her tears. Bring every costly gem, that shines In earth's dark caves, or ocean's hall; Heap all the gold of Indian mines, One grain of love outweighs it all.
