there was a conflict of interests, and murders were of frequent occurrence. But justice rarely overtook the offenders, for the mangled bodies and broken ships were flung into space, and there they floated on and on for ever and told no tales. The fate of the dead men was never known to those whom they had left behind.

But it was fated that the great race that ruled the earth should cross the path of another as great, as ambitious, and as unyielding as itself. They were gradually approaching one another, and soon there would be a crash that would resound far and wide through the universe.
