XXVL Provided always, and be it enadted, That nothing in this Adt contained fhall extend to putProvifoforthe- any new Charge of Arms upon the Tinners in the Counties of Devon and Cornwall, other than the Tax "^'""^^^ °f ^^" mentioned in the former Provifo ; but that the Lord-Warden of the Stannaries for the Time being, in JJ^a"]^" '"^"* Purfuance of his Majefty's Commiffion in that Behalf, and fuch -as he fhall commiflionate and authorize under him, according to the Rules and Dirediions before-mentioned in this AdV, fhall and may have and ufe the like Powers, and Array, Affefs, Arm, Mufter and Exercife the faid Tinners within the faid Counties, and either of them, as hath been heretofore ufed, and according to the antient Privileges and Cuftoms of the faid Stannaries, obferving the Rules and Proportions appointed by this Adl ; any Thipg, in this Adt to the contrary notwithftanding. XXVn. Provided always, and be it enadled by the Authority aforefaid. That his Majefty's Lieute- Pfoy'/ ^^r ■*;' nants that are or fhall be commifTioned for the Militia of the City of London, may and fhall continue to^n"" of Lou- lift and levy the Trained Bands and Auxiliaries of the faid City, as to Number and Quality of the Per- fons, in fuch Manner as was ufed in forming the prefent Forces now raifed by his Majefty's CommifTion ; •(2) and in regard of the extraordinary Duties, which the Forces of the faid City that now are and for- merly were raifed in order to his Majefty's happy Reftauration, have of late, and may again be put to, ^for the Safety of his Majefty's Perfon, and for fjppreiring or preventing of Infurredtions ; {■>,) That it fhall and may be lawful for his Majefty's Lieutenants of the faid City, by V/arrant from his Majefty, 'to impofe and levy yearly in the fame, fo much Money as they fhall find needful, for defraying the Ar- rears of thofe firft raifed for his Majefty's happy Reftauration, and the Arrears and neceiTary Charge of thofe that now are and fhall be raifed, with the Ammunition and other incident Expences of their Mi- litia, in fuch Manner as the prefent AflefTment is now levied, and not exceeding in any one Year the 'Proportion of one Month's Tax, which the faid City now pays towards the Tax of ^ feventy thoufand 'Pounds by the Month, and fhall be accountable for the fame, as by this Adt is- ordained ; any Thing in this Adt to the contrary of this Provifo in any wife notwithftanding.
