' the late Queen ^of Bleffed Memory) their Heirs and Succeffors, for Beer, Ale, Cyder, and other Liquors ' therein expreffea, by way of Excife, certain additional Rates and Duties therein particularly expreffed;

  • and the faid Impofitions, Rates, or Duties, fo to arife by or upon the Tunnage of Ships or Veffels,

' ^ranted for the Term of four Years, as aforefaid ; and the faid additional Rates or Duties of Excife, fo ' granted and made payable for ever by the Ail: laft mentioned, are to be raifed, levied, and colledted, and to be brought into the Receipt of Exchequer, in fuch Manner and Form, and by fuch Rules, Ways, and

  • ther enafted. That each Weekly or other Payment, arifing by and out of the Duties and Impofitions

' granted by the kO. laft mentioned, {hould, by the Auditor of the Receipt of the Exchequer, from time to ' time, as the fame fhould be paid in, be feparated and divided into five feventh Parts, and two feventh ' Parts; And it was thereby enaiSed, That it fhould and might be lawful for any Perfons, Natives or Fo- ' reigiiers, to contribute towards the advancing of the Sum of three hundred thoufand Pounds (Part of '. the Sum of fifteen hundred thoufand Pounds therein mentioned) by paying into the Receipt of the Ex- ' chequer, fuch Sum and Sums of Money, within fuch Time, and upon the feveral and refpeftive Terms of

  • having and receiving certain Annuities, for one, two, or three Lives, according to the feveral Rates

' and Proportions as are in the fame Aft particularly exprefled, as by the faid feveral Afts of Parliament ' ' (Relation being thereunto had) may more fully appear : 4 & 5 W. & M. ' III. And whereas by virtue or in purfuance of the faid Aft, which granted certain Duties of Excife, 1&6 W &M ' ^° Secure Recompences and Advantages to the Perfons that fhould advance the Sum of ten hundred thou- • ' ' fand Pounds, as aforefaid, and another Aft of this prefent Parliament, for fupplying the Deficiency of the ' Money, which was to be raifed by the Aft lafl mentioned, and by virtue or in purfuance_ of the Claufes ' relating to the faid Sum of three hundred thoufand Pounds in the faid Aft, impofing a Duty of Tun- ' nage upon Ships, and additional Rates of Excife, as aforefaid, divers Perfons as well Natives as Fo- ' reigners, have aftually advanced and contributed, and paid into the Receipt of the Exchequer, feveral ' Sums of Money, amounting in the whole to thirteen hundred thoufand Pounds, upon the feveral and ' refpeftive Terms in the fame Afts mentioned in relation to fuch Contributions; and for Part thereof, to ' wit, for the Sum of nine hundred eighty-one thoufand fix hundred and nineteen Pounds one Shilling ' and nine Pence, or thereabouts, fo advanced and contributed, the refpeftive Contributors of the fame ' are or were intituled to have, receive, and enjoy, for and during feveral fingle Lives only (that is to fay)

  • during the Life of every fuch Contributor, or the Nominee of fuch Contributors refpeftively, an An-

' nuity, yearly Rent, or Payment, after the Rate of fourteen Pounds of lawful EngViJl) Money for every ' hundred Pounds fo advanced or contributed, payable at the four mofl ufual Feafts in the Year by equal ' Portions : ' IV. And whereas the Perfons, who are or may be intituled to fuch Eflates for fingle Lives in the faid

  • Annuities, or fome of them, are or may be willing and defirous (for a reafonable Price or Confideration)

' to have fuch their refpeftive Eftates for fingle Lives changed or converted into a certain Term or Terms ■ ' for ninety-fix Years, to be computed from the five and twentieth Day of January, which fhall be in the ' Year of our Lord one thoufand fix hundred ninety-five, of and in Aich or the like Annuities as they have ' for fingle Lives, as aforefaid, or that they, or fuch as they fhall nominate, his, her, or their Executors, ' Adminiflrrators, and Affigns refpeftively (for the like Price or Confideration) fhall or may be intituled to ' have, receive, and enjoy the like Annuity, from and after the Determination of his, her, or their Eftate

  • for a fingle Life, as aforefaid, for and during the Refidue which fhall be then to come and unexpired of
  • the faid Term of ninety-fix Years; and in Cafes where the prefent Owner of an Annuity for a fingle

' Life, as aforefaid, is or may be unwilling (if any fuch be) to purchafe a further or more certain Eflate

  • or Interefl therein, it is likely that fome other Perfon or Perfons is or may be defirous to be admitted

' (though at a Rate or Confideration fomething higher) to purchafe a future Eftate or Interefl in fuch or ' the like Annuity or Annuities, to take Effeft from and after the Determination of the Term for the fingle ' Life in being, and to continue for and during the Refidue and Remainder of the faid Term of ninety-fix ^ Years, which fhall be then to come and unexpired :' Now for the Encouragement of fuch Perfons as fhall voluntarily contribute or advance, at the refpeftive Rates herein after mentioned, any Monies into the . Receipt of his Majefty's Exchequer for fuch further or more certain Eflates or Interefls, as aforefaid, and for the better fupplying of Monies (with as much Eafe, and at as little Charge, as may be) for the carrying on the War againfi the French Kin? ; 5 V.
