An Act for the Naturalization of the moft Excellent Princefs Sophia, Electrefs and Dutchefs Dowager of /7<?wy«r, and the Illue of her Body. HERE AS the imperial Crown and Dignity of the Realms o^ England, France, znd Ireland^ and the Dominions thereto belonging, after the Demife and Death of your Majefty, our moft gracious Sovereign, without IfTue of your Body, is limited by A& of Parliament, to the moft Excellent Princefs Sophia, Eleftrefs and Dutchefs Dowager of Hanover, Grandaughter of the late JKing James the Firft, and the Heirs of her Body, being Proteftants : And whereas your Majefty, by your Royal Care and Concern for the Happinefs of thefe Kingdoms, reigns in the Hearts and Affeftions of all your Peo- ple, to their great Comfort and Satisfaftion, and will be a glorious Example to your Royal bucceffbrs in future Ages : And to the End the faid Princefs Sophia, Eleftrefs and Dutchefs Dowager of Hanover^ and the IfTue of her Body, and all Perfoiis lineally defcending from her, may be encouraged to become acquainted with the Laws and Conftitutions of this Realm, it is juft and highly reafonable, that they, in your Majefty's Life Time (whom God long preferve) fliould be naturalized, and be deemed, taken, and efteemed natural born Subjefts of England :' We your Majefty's moft dutiful and loyal Subjects, the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in Parliament aflembled, do moft humbly befeech your Majefty that it may be enafted ; and therefore be it enaded by the Queen's moft Excellent Majefty, by and with the Advice and Confent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and the Commons, in this pre- Princefs Sophia fent Parliament affembled, and by the Authority of the fame, That the faid Princefs Sophia, Eleftrefs of Hanover, and and Dutcliefs Dowager of Hanover, and the Iflue of her Body, and all Perfons lineally defcending from her Iffue, natu- j^gj.^ ^^j-j^ pj. hereafter to be born, be and ftiall be, to all Intents and Purpofes v/hatfoever, deemed, raised. taken, and efteemed natural born Subjefts of this Kingdom, as if the faid Princefs, and the Ifiue of her Body, and all Perfons lineally defcending from her, born or hereafter to be born, had been born within this Realm of England; any Law, Statute, Matter, or Thing whatfoever to the contrary notwithftanding. VL An Aft for continuing an additional Subfidy of Tunnage and Poundage, and certain Duties upon Coals Culm, and Cynders, and additional Duties of Excife, and for fettling and eftablifhing a Fund thereby, and by other Ways and Means, for Payment of Annuities, ta be fold for raifing a further Supply to her Majefty, for the Service of the Year one thou- fand feVep hundred and fix, and other Ufes therein mentioned.
