And be it enaded by the Authority aforefaid, that the Duties upon Rock Salt and Salt Rock, Duties how to which fhall be charged in purfuance of this Aft, fhall be raifed, levied, and recovered, by fuch Ways and ^^ "ifed,&c. Means, and in fuch Manner and Form, in all Cafes (unlefs in fuch where other Methods or Dircttions are hereby prefcribed) as the Dutiies upon Salt or Rock Salt, chargeable by the faid former Adts, or any of them, were thereby appointed to be raifed, levied, and recovered ; and that all Fines, Penalties, and And Fines, Pe- Forfeitures, by this A£l impofed, fhall and may be fued for, levied, and recovered, in fuch Manner and nalties, &c. re- Form, and with fuch Power of Mitigation, as any Fine, Forfeiture, or Penalty, is or may be recovered, <=°'"™' by any Law or Laws of Excife, or by Aftion of Debt, Bill, Plaint, or Information in any of his Majefly's Courts of Record at Weflminjler ; and that one Moiety of every fuch Fine, Forfeiture, or Penalty, fhall be to his Majefty, his Heirs and SuccefTors, and the other Moiety to him or them that fhall inform or' fue for the fame ; and that all the Duties which fhall be charged by Virtue of this Aft, as afore- faid, fliall be brought in, applied, ilTued, and difpofed of, to the fame Ufes and Purpofes, and in the fame Proportions, as the Duties upon Salt and Rock Salt, charged by the faid former Afts refpsc- tively, are appointed to be brought in, iffued, and applied, and under the fame Penalties for delaying, diverting, or mifapplying any Part of the Monies arifing for the faid Duties to be charged by this Aft, as in and by the faid former Afts, or any of them, in the like Cafe and Cafes are prefcribed ; any Thing in this or the faid fonner Afts contained to the contrary thereof in any wife notwith - flanding. IX. And for the greater Equality, in determining Differences touching the Duties upon all Salt whatfo- ever, and the Penalties and Forfeitures concerning the fame ; be it further enafted by the Authority aforefaid. That from and after the fifteenth Day of A'lay in the Year of our Lord one thoufand fix Perfons aggrierel hundred ninety-nine, if any Perfon or Perfons fhall find him, her, or themfelves aggrieved by any "'3' ='PP"i. Order or Judgment of any two Juflices of the Peace, relating to the Duties upon Salt, or to any For- feiture or Offence concerning the fame, that then it fhall and may be lawful to and for fuch Perfon or Perfons to appeal to the Juftices at the next Quarter-Seffions of the Peace to be holden for that County, Liberty, Riding, Divifioji, or Place, where the faid Order or Judgment fhall be made or given, and the faid Juftices at fuch Quarter-SefEons are hereby impowered and authorifed to hear and determine the fame, whofe Judgment therein fnall be final ; any Thing in this or any former Aft or Afts to the con- trary notwithflanding. X. And be it enafted by the Authority aforefaid.
