D. 170©. all other Peifons whatfoever, for or concerning the Money contained or fpecified in fuch Ticket or Tickets, Bill or Bills, or which was due thereon, they the faid OfEcers refpeftively (liall, and are here- by required to pay and difcharge the faid Tickets or Bills, as he or they Ihould have paid or difcharged the original Tickets or Bills, if the fame had been produced, and fiiall be allowed fuch Payment in their refpeclive Accounts ; any Thing in this or any otlrer Aift contained to the contrary hereof in any wife notwithftanding. ' XIV. And wh^u'eas in and by en Ad made and paffed in the eighth Year of his Majefty's Reign, in- ' tituled, An Ac} for tnaking good the Deficienccs of the feveral Funds therein mentioned, and for enlarging the ' capital Stock of the Bank of England ; and for raifmg the puhlick Credit, it was amongft other Things ' enatted. That no Aifignment or Transferrence, which from and after the tenth Day of fune one ' thoufand fix hundred ninety-feven fliould be made of any the Orders or Tallies therein mentioned, ' or any the Monies contained therein, upon the felling, buying, or bargaining of the fame, fhould be ' good, unlefs fuch Aflignment or Transferrence be made and figned, or fealed, and be, within ten ' Days after tiie figning thereof, entred or regiftred, and that Oath be thereupon made concerning the ' Premium, Grstuity^ or Confideration in the Manner and Form prefcribed by the faid A61, as by ' the faid Aft, Relation being thereunto had, may more fully appear : And whereas the Provifion fo ' made concerning the Sale of Tallies and Orders, was at the Time of making thereof, and afterwards, ' of great Service to the Publick ; but by reafon fuch Tallies and Orders, as aforefaid, are now generally ' rifen in their Value and Eftimation, and the faid Provifion is become needlefs, and in fome Refpefts ' inconvenient ;' Be it therefore enacted by the Autliority aforefaid. That the Claufes of the faid A61 herein recited, for or concerning the making, entring, and regiftring fuch AiHgnments, as aforefaid, and for making Oath concerning the Premium, Gratuity or Confideration Money, as aforefaid, are and fliall be repealed and utterly void, and that all Affignments made or to be made, of or upon any the faid Orders or Tallies, fnall be of fuch or the like Force and EfFecSt, as the fame would have been, if the fiid recited Claufes concerning the fame, had not been inferted in the faid A(St ; any Thing in the faid Aft contained to the contrary notwithftanding. ' XV. And whereas great Numbers' of the Poor of this Kingdom are employed in the Manufafture ' of Bone-lace :' For the Encouragement thereof, be it enafted by the Authority aforefaid. That from and after the firft Day of May one thoufand feven hundred it fhall and may be lawful, for all Perfons, Natives and Foreigners, to export to the EnglifD Plantations in A?nerica, or to any other Parts beyond the Seas, or into Scotland, all Sorts of Englifn Bone-lace, Needle-work, Point or Cut- work without paying any Cuftom or Duty for the fame, Oath being firft made, that the fame was made or manufadtured within the Kingdom oi England, Dominion of Wales, or Town of Berwick upon Tweed; any Law or Statute to contrary in any wife notwithftanding.. ^ ' XVI. And whereas Tallow Candles imported into this Kingdom, are chargeable by feveral Afts of ' Parliament, with the Subfidies of Tunnage and Pondage, and other Impofitions ;' Be it enafted by the Authority aforefaid, That from and after the tenth Day of April one thoufand feven hundred the one Moiety and no more of all the faid Subfidies and Impofitions, payable only for fuch Tallow Candles as ftiall be exported, according to the Rules and Methods by the faid Afts appointed, fhall be repaid, or difcharged upon the Security for the fame ; any Law or Statute to the contrary thereof in any wife notwithftanding, XVII. And be it enafted by the Authority aforefaid. That over and above the Sum of twenty-feven thoufand Pounds, by another A£l of this Sellion of Parliament, appointed to be paid for the Ufes therein mentioned, out of the Money to be advanced by Farmers or Contraftors for the Dutiegjjf Excife, and certain Duties upon Salt, upon a Farm or Contrail (if any fuch fhall be) for a Term not exceeding three Years, to commence from the four and twentieth Day of June next, there fliall be and is hereby appro- priated and applied out of fuch Advance Money a further Sum not exceeding twenty-five thoufand Pounds, as well for difcharging one Year's Intereft upon the four and twentieth Day oi'June one thoufand fix hundred ninety-eight, upon the Tickets commonly called the Malt Tickets, as alfo to go in aid of the Ar- rears of the late Duties upon Malt, to make up the fixty-fifth Payment in Courfe of the Malt Tickets ; that is to fay, to compleat the fixty-fifth Sum of ten thouiand Pounds payable thereupon ; and the proper Officer and Officers concerned in the Payment of the faid Tickets, are hereby required to indorfe the In- tereft fo paid upon every Ticket, and to keep a fair Account of fuch Payments in a Book for that Pur- pofe ; and if any of the faid Tickets, or any of the Exchecjuer Bills, fhall be applied to the purchafing of any forfeited Eftates in Ireland, the fame (hall be firft tried or proved with the Counterparts thereof in the refpeftive Offices for the fame in Erigland, and be certified to be true Bills or Tickets by the proper Officers there ; and fuch further Sum not exceeding twelve thoufand Pounds, as fliall be neceflary for the difcharging the Half-pay of dilbanded Officers, .to the five and twentieth Day of December one thoufand feven hundred, fhall (over and above the Sum of forty-one thoufand Pounds already appropriated for the Half-pay of fuch Officers) be likewife furnifhed and fupplied out of fuch Advance-money, to be paid by fuch Farmers or Contraftors as aforefaid (if any fuch be) and all the reft and Refidue of the faid Monies to be advanced by fuch Farmers or Contractors as aforefaid (if any fuch be) is hereby appropriated, and fhall be applied, to and for the making good of the feveral and refpeftive Funds, and to the feveral and refpeclive Ufes and Purpofes, whereunto the feveral Branches of the faid Excife and Salt Duties are ap- propiisted or direfted by any A£t or A£ls of Parliament now in Force, and in the fame Proportions, Or- der and Form, as the faid Duties themfelves-are hereby appropriated or applicable ; any Tiling in this or any former A£t or Aits of Parliament contained to the contrary notwithftanding.
