' VI. Provided alfo, and be it further enaded by the Authority aforefaid, That no Perfon, hereby ap- pointed or hereafter to be ele6ted, except only fuch Lords or Ladies of fuch Manors, or fuch Agents as aforefaid, fhall be enabled to meet, fit or act as a CoinmiiTioner for any of the faid Diftricts, nor fhall any Proprietor of Lands be intitled to vote at any ElecStion of a Commiflioner or Commiflioners, unlefs fuch Perfon fo appointed or to be eledted a Commiflioner, and fuch Proprietor refpedively fhall be qualified Qjialific.tio.i of as is herein after mentioned ; that is to fay. For the lirft Dittrid, unlefs he {hall be feifed in P>e or for Coromiirionees, Life, of one fix Acre Hollow Lot, or of one five Acre Hollow Lot, or of one Bury Yen Lot, or of one IViftow Fen Lot, or of twenty Acres of Adventurers or other Lands within fuch Diftridt ; nor for the fe- cond Diftricl, unlefs he fhall be feized in Fee or for Life, of one Stocking Fen Lot within fuch Diftridt ; nor for the third Diftri6l, unlefs he fhall be feifed in Fee or for Life, of one Bill Lot within fuch Dil'hidf ; nor for the fourth Difl:ri£V, unlefs he (hall be feifed in Fee or for Life, of fixty Acres of Adventurers- Lands within fuch Diftriil, or of tv/enty Acres within the Gore lying within the fame Diilri(5t ; nor for the fifth Diftri(S, unlefs he fliall be feifed in Fee or for Life, of one Loadfend Lot, or of one Longbeach Lot within fuch Diftrid ; nor for the fixth DiftriiSi-, unlefs he fhall be ieifed in Fee or for Life, of one Me^rfide Lot, or one Midfetter Lot, or of fifty Acres of other Land within fuch Diflridi ; and in cafe there fhall not be in any one Diftridl fuch a Number of Perfons qualified to be CommiflTioners as is herein before authorized to be ele6ted for fuch Diflridl, then and in fuch Cafe, any lefs Number of Per- fons fo qualified may be elected ; but the Number to be ele6ted fhall never exceed the refpeiflive Numbers herein before mentioned ; and if any Perfon or Perfons not being fo qualified, fliall prefume Penalty oi» to vote for, or a6l as a CommiflTioner in the Execution of this Act, every fuch Perfon fhall for every K.^-"* *'^.'"^' fuch Offence forfeit the Sum of fifty Pounds, to be recovered by Aftion of Debt or on the Cafe, Bill, '^ "°t T^^^=^«d.. Plaint or Information, in any of his Majefty's Courts of Record at JVeJhninJier, wherein no Efloin, Pro- tection, Wager of Law, or more than one Imparlance fhall be allowed ; and the Perfon fo profecuted fhall prove that he is qualified as aforefaid, or otherwife fhall pay the faid Sum of fifty Pounds, without any other Proof or Evidence on the Part of the Profecutor, than that fuch Perfon has acted as a Commif- fioner in the Execution of this A(5t; one Moiety of which Forfeiture fhall be paid to the Profecutor, and the other Moiety fhall be applied in fuch Manner as the other Penalties and Forfeitures are herein after directed to be applied. VII. And be it further ena6ted by the Authority aforefaid, That the refpe£tive Commiflioners for each of Meeting? of the faid Diflri6ts fliall twice in every Year, to wit. On the Tiiefday next after Trinity Sunday^ and the Tuefday CommiflioHe!^ next after Marthnnas Day, and at fuch other Times as they fhall think proper, meet at fome convenieiit Place or Places in Roinfey aforefaid, to be appointed by fuch refpeCtive Commiflioners for that Purpofe -. And the firft Meeting tor each of the faid DiftriCts fhall be held at the Houfe knovi^n by the Si. n of the George in the faid Town oi Ra?nfey, on tlie Tuefday next after Trinity Sunday in the Year one thoufand fc- ven hundred and fifty-feven : And the Commilfioncrs fo refpedtivcly affembled, fhall proceed to the Exe- cution of this A6t; and fhall then, and from time to time afterwards adjourn themfelvcs, to meet at luch other Time and Times, and Place or Places in the faid Town of Ramfey^ as they fhall think fit : And the CommiflTioners for the faid refpeCtive Diflridts fliall alfo meet at any other Time and Times in the faid Town of Rawfey as often as fhall be necelfary, and be required by any three or more of the Commiflioners for fuch DiflriCts : But three Days Notice at the leaft, fhall be firft given in the Parifii Church o( Ramfiy, on the Lord's Day in the Forenoon, immediately after Divine Service ; and a Copy of fuch Notice af- fixed on the Weft Door of the faid Church, of every fuch Meeting which fnall not be held by Adjourn- ment, or on the Days appointed by this Act : And that all Meetings in purfuance of this Act ihall be held in the Town of Rarnfeyy and at no other Place j and no more than the Sum of one Shilling ihall be expended, at any one Meeting of the Commiflioners for the faid . refpeCtlve Diftrids, out of the Monies to arife by virtue of this Adt. VIII. And be it further enacted by the Authority aforefaid. That the Commiflioners for the faid re- Cor/imifiioner? fpe£tive Diftridts fhall be and are hereby fully impowered at their Wills and Pleafures, from time to time *-° «'<'!'- ^'•'} to make, fupport, alter and maintain, or caufe to be made, fupported, altered and maintained, fuch "".ui^.twu Wc: Cuts, Drains, Dams, Banks, Tunnels, Headings, Trays, Stamps and Outlets, in, through and upon the faid Fen Lands and Low Grounds in fuch refpective Diftrids j and to make, eresft, remove, alter, repair and maintain fuch Works and Engines thereupon ; and if any Works or Engines are already made or erefted in fuch Diftri6ts, to remove, alter, repair or continue the fame, in fuch Manner as they the faid refpedtj-ve Commiflioners fliall from time to time think ncceflary or convenient for draining and pre-' lerving the faid Lands and Grounds ; and alfo to make fuch Orders, and give fuch Directions for carry- ing on, and for the better and more orderly Government of the faid Works, and for executijig the Pur- pofes of this A6t, as they the faid refpedtive Commiflioners fliall think proper. IX. Provided always, and be it hereby further enadted and declared by the Authority aforefaid.
