C. 9, 165 ed in fuch Manner, and by fuch Officers and Perfons refpecflively, as in and by the faid A£l of the ele- venth and twelfth of Kino- William the 7'hird was directed and appointed; and fliould be appropriated, divided and paid, for thel^cnefic of the Hiid Harbour of Dover and Rye refpeftively, in Manner following; that is to fay, one third thereof to the Treafurer for Dover Harbour for the time being, to be applied to fuch Ufes and Purpofes as in and by the faid former Ads are direded ; and the other two thirds to the Treafurer for the Harbour oi' Ryf, to be appointed as therein after is directed : And whereas by an A6t u Geo. ». c. 7. made in the eleventh Year of the Reign of his prefent Majcfty, the faid recited Acls, and all the Claufes, Powers, Penalties and Forfeitures, Authorities, Articles, Rules and Diredions therein contained and prcltribed, and then in Force, fhould continue and be in full Force, and executed, from and after the Expiration of thel'erm continued and granted by the faid A(5l of the ninth Year of the Reign of his faid late Majefty King George the Firft, for and during the further Term of twenty-one Years, which Term will expire the firfl Day of Alay one thoufand feven hundred lixty-five, old Stile: And whereas the Commiffioners or Truflees acting under the Authority of the former Ads for the Harbour of Dover, did borrow upon ihe Credit of the lame Ads the Sum of three thoufand Pounds, which hath been applied purfuant to the Diredions and for the Purpofco of the f^iid former Ads, and for the Repayment thereof with Interefl, the Rates and Duties fo granted were charged and made a Security to the Perfon and Per- fons who advanced and lent the faid Sum, and the fame doth flill remain due, and owing, and unfatisHed ; And whereas great Progrefs hath been made in the "Works intended for the Prefervation and Improve- ment of the Harbour oi Dover, but the Works propofed and dircded to be done for that Purpofe have not been perfeded and compleated : And whereas it would tend greatly to the Prefervation of his Majefty's Ships of War, and the Protedion and Encouragement of the Trade of this Kingdom, that the faid Har- bour of Dover fhould be effedually repaired, and put in good Order and Condition, but the Money arifmg^ by the Rates and Duties granted and appropriated by the faid former Ad of the ninth Year of the Reign of King George the Firllr, for the Repair of Dover Harbour, will not be fuffieient for that Purpofe, and for difcharging the faid Sum of three thoufand Pounds borrowed upon the Credit of the former Ads as aforefaid, unlefs the Terms for which the faid Rates and Duties are granted by the faid former Ads be en- larged, or fome other Provifion be made in that Behalf:' May it therefore pleafe your Majefty, that it may be enaded, and be it enaded, by the King's mofl Excellent Majefty, by and with the Advice and Con- fcnt of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this prefent Parliament alTembled, and by the Authority of the fame. II. And be it further enaded by the Authority aforefaid. That this prefent Ad fhall be deemed, adjudged Publick. An Ad to indemnify Perfons who have omitted to qualify themfelves for Offices and Employ- ments; and to indemnify Juftices of the Peace, and others, who have omitted to regifter their Qualifications within the 1 ime limited by Law ; and for giving further Time for ihofe Purpofts, and the filing of Affidavits of Articles of Clerkfliip.
