C. 10. 179 or from the Captain or Commander of any Ship in which fuch Officer or Seaman fhall then ferve, in cafe luch Ship fliall be in any Port of Great Brllain where there is a Commiffioner of the Navy, the Commif- lloners of the Navy, at their Board, fiiall immediately fend their Pay Books, or Pay Lifts made out from them, to fuch Commiffioner, who fhall forthwith caufe the Wages to be paid to fuch Officer or Seaman. 8. The Captain, or Commander, fiiall make out a Ticket upon the Death of every inferior Officer and Seaman, and ihall tranfmit the fame, by the firft fafe Opportunity, to the Comniiffioners of the Navy, at their Board, who are to affign the fame for Payment within one Month after the Receipt thereof; and the fame fhall be delivered, and Payment thereon made, without Fee or Reward, to the Executors or Admini- llrators of fuch Officer or Seaman, or to the Attorney of fuch Executors or Adminiflrators. 9. The Captain, or Commander, fhall make out a Ticket for every inferior Officer or Seaman who flrall be difcharged as unferviceable, purfuant to the Directions of the Aft, and fhall fend fuch Ticket, by the lirft fafe Opportunity, to the Commiffioners of the Navy, at their Board. The Captain, or Commander, fhall not deliver fuch Ticket to fuch Officer or Seaman, but fhall give him a Certificate of fuch Difcharge, containing an exa£l Copy of the Ticket, and a Defcription of his Ferfon, The faid Commiffioners of the Navy lliall immediately caufe the Day v/hen fuch Ticket v/as received to be indorfed thereon, and iliall af- fign the fame for Payment within one Month at fartheft from the Day of making fuch Indorfement. And if any fuch Officer or Seaman fhall prefent fuch Certificate at the Navy Office, the faid Commiffioners of the Navy are forthwith to examiine fuch Certificate, and the Perfon prefenting the fame ; and, being fatisfied that the Certificate v/as made out for fuch Perfon, and that he is rendered unferviceable, they fhall teftify the fame on fuch Certificate. The faid Ticket being fo affigned, fhall be imm.ediately delivered, and Pay- ment made at the Pay Office of the Navy, to fuch Officer or Seaman, without Fee or Rcvv'ard, and to no ocher Perfon whatfoever. If the Ticket fhall not have been tranfmitted to, and received by, the Commii- fi oners of the Navy, the Money appearing to be due by the Copy of the Ticket in the Certificate, fhall be paid in like Manner as if the Ticket had been received. Such Officer or Seaman being defirous to receive bis Wages at any Port in Gi'ecit Britain where a Commiffioner of the Navy refides, m.ay produce his Certi- ficate to fuch Commiffioner of the Navy, who, being fiitisfied that fuch Certificate was made out for fuch Perfon, and that he is rendered unferviceable, fiiall fign and tranfmit the iame to the Commiffioners of the Navy, at their Board ; who, within four Days after the Receipt of fuch Certificate, are to lend the Ticket for fuch Officer or Seaman, or if Inch Ticket iLall not have been tranfmitted to and received by them, theji the faid Certificate, containing a Copy of the faid Ticket inftead thereof, to the Commiffioner at fuch Port ; who fhall caufe immediate Payment thereon to be made, without Fee or Reward : And fuch Commiffioner fhall lend fuch Officer or Seaman to the neareff Flofpital, where he is to be received and victualled, from the Time of preienting fuch Certificate until Payment is made. If any fuch Certificate fiiall be lofi:ordeifroyed,or fuch Officer or Seaman fnall not prefent the fame in Perfon, or the Money due on any fuch Ticket fhall not be paid before the general Payment of the Ship's Company, the Ticket fhall be cancelled, and the Wages be payable as if fuch Ticket and Certificate had not been made out. 10. When any inferior Officer or Seaman fnall, by Order of the Captain or Commander, be fet fick afhore, and be fent into any Hofpital, or Sick Quarters, fuch Captain or Commander fhall make out a Sick Ticket, for the Wages due to fuch Officer or Seaman, and tranfmit the fame with fuch Officer or Seaman to the Hofpital, or Sick Quarters ; and if fuch Officer or Seaman fhall be regularly difcharged from thence as un- ferviceable, a Certificate of his Difcharge, with the Sick Ticket annexed thereto, fnall be delivered to him :' And if he fhall prefent the fame to a Commiffioner at any Port in Great Britain, fuch Commiffioner being fatisfied that fuch Officer or Seaman is unferviceable, fhall fign the famiC on the Certificate, and forthwith tranfmit fuch Certificate, and Sick Ticket, to the Commiffioners of the Navy, at their Board, who, within four Days after the Receipt thereof, are required to caufe a proper Ticket, or Pay Lifl, to be made out for the Wages due to fuch Officer or Seaman, and to fend fuch Ticket, or Pay Lift, Vv'ithout Delay, to the Commiffioner at fuch Port, who fnall caule immediate Payment of the Wages to he made, without Fee or Reward, to fuch Officer or Seaman |^ who, notwithflanding fuch Difcharge, fhall be miaintained in fuch' Hofpital, or Sick Quarters, from the Tim.e he fiiall prefent the Certificate, and Sick Ticket, until the Pay- ment fhall be made. n. The Payment of Tickets, Certi-ficates, or Pay Lifls, fhall not be delayed, though the Mufler or Pay Books be not regularly fent to, and received by, the Commiffioners of the Navy : but if any Error fhall be made in any Ticket, Certificate or Pay Lilf, the Lofs fhall be made good out of the Wages of the Cap- tain:, or Commander, by whom fuch Ticket, Certificate, or Pay Lift, was made out. 12. As often as any Ship which fhall not be in a Port of Great Britain, or on the Coaft thereof, fhall, have twelve Months Wages due, ihe Captain, or Commander, fhall caufe the Names of all the inferior Of-' ficers and S.eamen to be called over, and each to anfwer to his Name, and fhall do the fame at the End of every fix Months, when twelve Months, or more Wages, fhall be due : And if any fuch Officer or Sea-' man fhall then declare, or deliver in Writing, the Name and Place of Abode of his Wife, Father or I^o- ther, and define that the Whole, or any Part of his Wages then due, except the Wages due for the laft fix* Months, fi^.ould be paid to fuch Wife, Father or Mother, ..by the Receiver General of the Land Tax for any» County, Riding or City, or Collccfor of the Culloms for any Port, or Coile-flor of the Excife for . any CoUedtion in Great Britain, or. the Clerk of the Cheque at any Dock Yard; the Captain, or Commander,! is flridiy required to caufe four Lifts to be made out of the Perfons fo defiring to make fuch Remittance?, and fhall tranfmit fuch Lifts, by the firft fafe Opportunity, without Delay, to the Commiffioners of the Navy, at their Board, who, on Receipt thereof, fhall immediately make out two Bills purfuant to the Di-f rections of the A6t, for the Payment of the Wages fo allotted by each Perfon ; one of which Bills (hail be^ fent to the Pei fons refpedfively fpccified in fuch Lifts, and the other to fuch Receiver, Colledor, or Clerk of the Cheque : And if the Perfon to whom any fuch Bill is fent, fiiall, v/ithin fix Months fiom the DateJ thereof, produce and deliver the fame to fuch Receiver, Collector, or Cleik of the Cheque, together withi A a 2 aCer-
