XXV. Provided always, and be it further enaded by the Authority aforefaid. That if any Tunnel or ReguiatJoiis to Tunnels fliall be laid for taking Water out of the Rivers Cam, otherwife Grant, Ouze, or MildenbaU, or be obierved in Sohajn Drain, otherwife Barrotuay Load, into the faid Fen Lands, the Bottom of fuch Tunnel or Timnels lajing Tunnels j Ihall not, at any Time, be laid lower than two Feet below the Surface or Level of the loweft whole Ground in that Part of the faid Fen Lands into which fuch Water fhall be taken ; and if any Perfon (hall lay the Bot- ■ tom of any fuch Tunnel lower than two Feet below the Surface or Level of the loweft whole Ground in any fuch refpeiSlive Part of the faid Fen Lands, and fhall be lawfully convi6led thereof before any Juftice oi the Peace for the County or Place where fuch Offence fliall be committed, he or flie fo offending fliall, for every fuch Offence, forfeit, to the Ufe of the Perfon giving Information thereof, the Sum of five Pounds for Penalty 5 1. every fuch Offence, to be levied by Diftrefs and Sale of the Offender's Goods and Chatties, by Warrant under the Hand and Seal of the Juftice before whom he or flie fhall be convidfed as aforefaid. Commiffioners, or the major Part of them, fuch major Part being not lefs than feven, are hereby impovvered and ordered to allow and pafs the faid Accounts, or ("uch Part or Parts of the fame as they fliall fee juft and reafonable ; and fuch Account or Accounts, or fuch Part or Parts of the lame as fliall be allowed by the faid ^-cconnts, af er Commiffioners, or any feven or more of them as aforefaid, under their Hands, fliall be fairly entered in two ^^^ "lli^^^l^' feveral Sets of Books to be kept for that Purpofe, one Set whereof fhall be kept by the faid Commiffioners, 2 Sets'otTookj and the other Set fhall remain in the Parifli Church of Soham aforefaid; and the faid Books fhall and may &c. be infpefted and perufed at any Time, at feafonable Flours, by any Perfon or Perfons (being an Owner or Owners of any of the faid Fen Lands and Low Grounds) requiring the fame, without Fee, or any other Reward. XXVn. And to the End that the faid Banks, or any other Banks to be raifed by virtue of this Aft, may be the better preferved ; Be it further enafted by the Authority aforefaid.
