Marines Wives, &c. not XXXI. And be it ena£led by the Authority aforefaid. That if any Officer, Military or Civil, to be quartered without by this Aft authorized to quarter Marines in any Houfes hereby appointed for that Purpofe, fhall ^°" • at any Time, during the Continuance of this AcSt, quarter any of the Wives, Children, Men ot Maid-fervants of any Officer or Marine in any fuch Houfes, againft the Confent of the Owners j Pgjjgjjy^ the Party offending, if an Officer of the A4arine fhall, upon Complaint and Proof thereof made to the Commiffioners for executing the Office of Lord High Admiral, or Judge Advocate, be ipfo fa^o cafhiered ; and if a Conftable, Tythingman, or other Civil Officer, he fhall forfeit to the Party aggrieved twenty Shillings, upon Complaint and Proof thereof made to the next Juftice of the Peace, to be levied by Warrant of fuch Juftice, by Diftrefs and Sale of his Goods, rendering the Overplus to the Party, after deducing reafonable Charges in taking the fame. Penalty on Officers or XXXII. And for the better Prcfervation of the Game, in or near fuch Place where any Of- Marines deftroying the licers or Soldiers fhall at any Time be quartered ; Be it enadled by the Authority aforefaid. That G<>me. if, from and after the faid twenty-fifth Day oi March one thoufand feven hundred and fixty, any Officer or Marine fhall, without Leave of the Lord of the Manor, under his Hand and Seal firft had and obtained, take, kill or deflroy any Hare, Coney, Pheafant Partridge, Pigeon, or any other Sort of Fowls, Poultry or Fifh, or his Majefly's Game, within the Kingdom oi Great Britain; and upon Complaint thereof fliall be, upon Oath of one or more credible Witnefs or WitnelTes, con- vidled before any Juftice or Juftices of the Peace, who is and are hereby impowered and authorized to hear and determine the fame ; (that is to fay) every Officer fo offending fhall for every fuch Of- fence forfeit the Sum of five Pounds, to be diftributed among the Poor of the Place where fuch Of- fence fliall be committed ; and every Officer commanding in Chief upon the Place, for every fuch OfFeice committed by any Marine under his Command, fhall forfeit the Sum of twenty Shillings, to be paid and diftributed in Manner aforefaid : And if, upon Conviction made by the Juftices of the Peace, and Demand thereof alfo made by the Conftable or Overfeers of the Poor, fuch Officer fhall refufe or negleiSl, and not v/ithin two Days pay the faid refpecSfive Penalties, fuch Officer fo refufing or neglecting fhall forfeit, and is hereby declared to have forfeited his Commiflion, and his Com- miffion is hereby declared to be null and void. ' XXXIil. And whereas feveral Marines, who being duly entered, may afterwards defert, and
