XIX. Provided alfo, and be it further enadled by the Authority aforefaid. That it fhall and may be lawful to and for the Mayor, Aldermen and Commons of the faid City, in Common Council aflembled, or any Pcrfon or Perfons in whom any Houfe or Ground fliall be vefted by virtue of this A61, to let, fell or difpofe of fo much or fuch Parts thereof, as fhall not be neceflary for the open- ing or widening of any of the faid Streets, Lanes, Ways and Paflages, to any Perfon or Perfons, to and for fuch Ufe or Ufes as they fhall th'ink proper. XX. Provided alfo, and be it further enacted by the Authority aforefaid, That it fhall and may be lawful to and for the Mayor, Aldermen and Commons of the faid City, in Common Council afTembled, and they are hereby authorized and impowered, from Time to Time, to appoint a Com- mittee to manage and tranfait fuch Matters and Things as fliali be neceflary in or about the Exe- cution of the Purpofes intended by this Ail; which Committee fo to be appointed, fhall have fuch or fo much of the Powers and Authorities by this Acl given to the Mayor, Aldermen and Com- mons of the faid City, in Common Council aflembled, as the Mayor, Alderm.en and Commons of the faid City, in Common Council aflTembled, fhall, from Time to Time, think fit or proper to de- legate to fuch Committee. XXI. Provided neverthelefs, and be it enacted by the Authority aforefaid, That no Perfon con- cerned in Building, or dealing in any Materials for Building, fliall be capable of adding as a Mem- ber of any Committee fo to be appointed, or intruded to manage or conduit the Execution of the Purpofes aforefaid ; neither fhall any Perfon be eligible or capable of ading as a Member of fuch Committee, during fuch Time as he fhall have or execute any Office or Place of Profit by or un- der the Authority of this A6t, or hold any Place or Employment under the faid Mayor and Com- monalty and Citizens, or during fuch Time as he fhall have any Share or Intereft in any Contract or Agreement for efi^eiiing the Purpofes aforefaid.

  • XXII. And whereas by the pulling down feveral of the faid Houfes and Buildings, or fome

Part or Parts thereof, and laying the fame into Streets and Ways for the Purpofes aforefaid, the Reitors, Vicars or Curates of the refpedlive Parifhes wherein fuch Houfes and Buildings refpec- tively now ftand, will be deprived of their Remedy for recovering the Tythes, or yearly Sums of Money, or cufliomary Payments in lieu of Tythes, now charged on fuch refpettive Houfes or Buildings, and payable by the refpedtive Occupiers thereof, unlefs fome Provifion fhall be made by this Ait for the future Payment of the fame;' Be it therefore enacted by the Authority afore- ThcTythe, &c. charged faj^]^ That whatever the TvtVie or yearly Sum of Money, or cuflomary Payment in lieu of Tythe, on any McfTuagcs, to be charged on any Mcfl"uages, Tenements or Buildings, to be pulled down and laid into Streets and piiUfd down and Jaid into ,,^ = , l.i^-ri-Ar^/iiii ii r -i^u t i- Ways under the Authority of this Act, fhall be valued or afcertained at by any jury to be impa- nelled by virtue of this Ait, fhall be deduited out of the Sum at which the faid Mefluages, Tene- ments or Buildings fhall be fo v ilucd or afcertained, and the fame fhall be paid into the Chamber of the City oi London, for the Ufc of the faid City: And all fuch Tythes, Sums of Money, or cu- flomary Payments in lieu thereof, which fhall be in Arrear, or fhall then after become due and pay- able to the Rcitors, Vicars or Curates of the faid refpeitive Parifhes wherein fuch Houfts, Build.% ings or Tenements refpeitively are, for or in refpeil of any fuch Houfes, Buildings or Tenements, which or whereof any Part or Parts fhall be fo pulled down and laid into Streets or Ways, fhall for ever then afterwards be charged upon all and every the Manors, Mefluages, Lands, Tenements, Markets, Fairs and all other the Revenues of and belonging to the faid Mayor and Commonalty, and Citizens of the faid City, in PoflefGon or Reverfion, but without Prejudice to all precedent and paid qiiartfrly by the Charges thcrcon ; and fuch Arrears fhall be forthwith paid ; and the growing Payments fhall then f aTve Reflo7s anVvi- ^^^^^ ^^^ payable to the Redors, Vicars or Curates of the faid feveral Parifhes refpedively and their cjfs, &c. free'of all Succcflors for the Time being for ever, clear of all Taxes and Deduitions, by the Chamberlain of Taxw, and UcduaioRs, the faid City for the Time being, at the four moft ufual quarterly Feafts, or Days of Payment in every Year, (that is to fay) The Annunciation of the Blefled Virgin Mary, the Nativity of Saint John B/iptijl, the Fcaft of Saint Michael the Archangel, and the Nativity of our Blefled Saviour, by equal Payments in every Year; the firfl Payment thereof to begin and commence on fuch of the faid Feaft Days as fhall firft and next happen after the pulling down any of fuch Houfes, Buildings or 'tenements, or any Part or Parts thereof, and laying the lame into the Streets and Ways aforefaid, for the Purpofes aforefaid.
