' XII. And whereas the Commons oi Great Britain in Parliament afTembled did, in the laft Seflion
- of Parliament, unanimoufly by an humble Addrefs to his Majefty, humbly befeech his Majefty,
- that he would be gracioufly pleafed to confer fome fignal Mark of his Royal Favour upon the
- Right Honourable Arthur Onflotu Efquire, then Speaker of the Houfe of Commons, for his great
- and eminent Services performed to his Country, for the Space of thirty-three Years and upwards,
- during which he had with fuch diftinguiflied Ability and Integrity prefided in the Chair of that
- Houfe, and affured his Majefty that whatever Expence his Majefty fhould think proper to be in-
- curred on that Account, the faid Houfe would make good the fame to his Majefty : And whereas
- his Majefty, in his Anfwer to the faid Addrefs, was gracioufly pleafed to declare. That he hud
- the jufteft Senfe of the long Services and great Merit of Mr. Onflow^ and that his Majefty had al-
- ready taken the fame into his Conf.deration, and that he would do therein what fhould appear to
- his Majefty to be moft proper, agreeably to the Defire-of his faithful Commons ; And whereas by
