Note. — The above is anAbflract of the Title-Page to the Edition of the original Chinefe Work, printed in the Year 1799, from which the Fundamental Laws, tranflated in the following Pages, have been extra£led. — A ftill later Edition, exa£lly fimilar in refpedt to the Fundamental Laws, but containing a greater Number of Supplementary Statutes, and a different Selection of illuftrative Notes, has likewife been occafionally confulted.
