ITEM, Becaufe all our Soveraine Lords Burrowes ar put to povertie , waded, and dedroyed in their gudes and policie, and almaid ruinous throw fault of ufing of Merchandice , and that throw being of Out- landesmen, Proved, Baillies, and Aldermen within Burgh , for their awin particular weill , inconfuming of the commoun gudes of Burrowes , granted to them be our Soveraine Lord , and his Predeceflburs , Kings oi Scot land, for the uphald of honedie and policie within burgh: It is herefore datute and ordained, that na man in time dimming, bechofen, Proved, Baillies, or Aldermen into Burgh , bot they that ar honed and fubdantious Burgefles, Merchandes, and indwellers of the faid Burgh , under the paine of tinfel of their free- dome , quha dois in the contrair. And that na man dwelland within Burgh , purchafe Lordlhip out of Burgh, in ony his action or quarrell , to moled, trouble, or give feare and dreddour to his Nichtbour and partie, under the paine conteined in the actes and datutes maid thereupon of before. ITEM, It is datute and ordained, that na man, Earle, Lorde , Barronne , or uther of quhat-fiim-ever degree about and adjacent Nichtboures to Burrowes, moled, trouble , nor inquiet the Proved , Aldermen, Baillies and Officiares of Burrowes , and Merchandes thereof, in ufing of their Franchies , liberties, and pri- viledges, granted to them be our Soveraine Lord , and his Predecefioures , Kingis of Scotland, and in con- trair the acts and datutes maid thereupon, under the paine to be called and aceufed as commoun oppref- foures of our Soveraine Lordis Lieges, at Generall Judice aires, or private diettes , and Judice courtes, as fall be thocht expedient be the Kingis Grace : And that the Judice Clerke take inquifition and dittay hereof, as effeiris. 28.
