Halden at Perth, the fourth daie of Maij, the zeir of God, ane thouſand, foure hundreth, and fiftie zeirs, and of his Reigne the fourteenth zeire.

30. That na man of this Realme bring hame poyſon, under the paine of treaſon.

THE Lordes of the three Eſtaites gathered and aſſembled in the Friere Kirk, & commonand upon divers matters be-langand the commoun gude of the Realme, it was be the King and als the Lords of the three Eſtaites, aſſent and and conſentand, ordained: & be the maner of aye leſtand ſtatute determined and forbidden, that na kinde of man nor woman of the Realme of Scotland for Silver, nor Gold, nor nane uther merchandice, be na maner of way, ſould bye, nor inbring na kind of poyſon in the Realme, for onie maner of uſe, under the paine of treaſon. And gif onie perſon of the Realme of Scotland in onie time to cum bring in onie maner of poyſon, throw the quhilk onie Chriſtian-man or woman may take bodelie harme, and that may be kend or they convict theirof, that perſon or perſones, ſa declared and convict, ſall tyne and forefault to the King lyfe, land, and gudes.

31. That na ſtranger bring hame poyſon.

ITEM, Gif ony ſtranger, ane or maa, man or woman, of ony uther Realme, cum in this Realme of Scotland and in-bring be ony maner of way poyſon, throw the quhilk onie Chriſtian-man or woman may take bodely skaith, and that may be kende, or they convict thereof, they ſall underly the ſamin paines, as is before written of them of this Realme, and na conduct nor remſſllon to helpe them in that caſe.

32. The adviſement of the three Eſtaites, touching the matter of money.

ITEM, In the firſt, that they thinke it expedient for diverſe cauſes, that they have conſiddered, and counſellis that there be ſtricken in this Realme new money, conforme eaven in weight to the money of England, with the quhilk this Realme hes part of commoning. And that there be ſtricken of the ounce of burnt ſilver 8 or Bulzeon of that finnes, aucht groates, and of the ſamin matter and weight, as effeiris, halfegroate, pennie, halfe-pennie, and farding.

ITEM, That the ſamin new groate to be ſtricken, have courſe for aucht pennies the halfe groate: for foure pennies, the pennie: for twa pennies the halfe pennie: for ane pennie and the farding, for a half pennie.
