His wife was Katherine Graham. Their son, Alexander Alexander, Baron of Menstrey (1529), m. Lady Elizabeth Douglas, daughter of Thomas Douglas, eldest son of Sir Robert Douglas of Lochleven by his wife Margaret, daughter of David Balfour of Burleigh, an ancestor of the Earls of Morton.
