Gilbert McClure, of Donoghmore, Co. Derry, Ireland, died teste, 1687.

Richard McClure, of Gartan, Co. Donegal, Ireland, died testate, 1709.

Robert McClure, gentleman, Co. Monaghan, Ireland, died testate, 1673.


David McClure, oldest son of David of Candia, N. H., m. a Miss Dinsmore and moved to Deering, N. H. Their son, David, 1758-1835, of Antrim, N. H., m. Martha Wilson. Eleven children. See p. 166.


David McClure, of Co. Donegal, settled about 1720 in Lancaster Co., Pa., where he died 1749. Wife, Margaret. Three daughters and five sons. Of these, Alexander, David and John settled in Baltimore. The latter is probably the ancestor of John McClure of Baltimore, who m. Mary Anne Thornbury, whose daughter Georgianna Virginia m. John Thomas Schley, parents of Bear Admiral W. S. Schley. William, d. s., Randall m. Ann and had Alexander, James and John.


James, John and Thomas McClure settled in Ira, Vt., about 1779. Soldiers of the Revolution. James died in Middletown Feb. 22, 1815, aged sixty-seven. Samuel McClure, soldier of the Revolution, lived in or near Newbury, Vt.


Robert McClure (a brother William), b. 1734, settled in West Pennsboro, Columbia Co., Pa. He m. about 1755, Margaret Douglas. Three sons:
