An Act Making technical corrections relating to the Federal Employees' Retirement System.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That (a) section 302(a)(l)(DXII) of the Federal Employees' Retirement System Act of 1986 (Public Law 99-335; 100 Stat. 602) is amended by striking out. 5 USC 8831 note. "8442(b)(l)(B)," and inserting in lieu thereof "8442(b)(l), 8443(a)(l),". (b) The first sentence of section 8432(b)(4)(A) of title 5, United States Code, is amended to read as follows: "Notwithstanding paragraph (2)(A), an employee or Member who is an employee or Member on January 1, 1987, and continues as an employee or Member without a break in service through April 1, 1987, may make the first election for the purpose of subsection (a) during the election period prescribed for such purpose by the Executive Director.".
