(B) For support of military housing (including functions described in section 2833 of title 10, United States Code), $1,014,241,000. (6) For the construction of a bachelor enlisted quarters at the Naval Construction Battalion Center, Port Hueneme, California, authorized by section 2201(a) of the Military Construction Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 1996 (division B of Public Law 104-106; 110 Stat. 525), $7,700,000. (7) For the construction of a Strategic Maritime Research Center at the Naval War College, Newport, Rhode Island, authorized by section 2201(a) of the Military Construction Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 1995 (division B of Public Law 103-337; 108 Stat. 3031), $8,000,000. (8) For the construction of the large anachoic chamber facility at the Patuxent River Naval Warfare Center, Aircraft Division, Maryland, authorized by section 2201(a) of the Military Construction Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 1993 (division B of Public Law 102-484; 106 Stat. 2590), $10,000,000. (b) LIMITATION ON TOTAL COST OF CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS. — Notwithstanding the cost variations authorized by section 2853 of title 10, United States Code, and any other cost variation authorized by law, the total cost of all projects carried out under section 2201 of this Act may not exceed— (1) the total amount authorized to be appropriated under paragraphs (1) and (2) of subsection (a); (2) $5,200,000 (the bsdance of the amount authorized under section 2201(a) for the construction of a bachelors enlisted quarters at Naval Hospital, Great Lakes, Illinois); (3) $5,480,000 (the balance of the amount authorized under section 2201(a) for the construction of a chiller system upgrade at the United States Naval Academy, Maryland); and (4) $14,100,000 (the balance of the amount authorized under section 2201(b) for the construction of a bachelor enlisted quarters at Naval Station, Roosevelt Roads, Puerto Rico). (c) ADJUSTMENT. — The total amount authorized to be appropriated pursuant to paragraphs (1) through (8) of subsection (a) is the sum of the amounts authorized to be appropriated in such paragraphs, reduced by $12,000,000, which represents the combination of project savings resulting from favorable bids, reduced overhead costs, and cancellations due to force structure changes. SEC. 2205. BEACH REPLENISHMENT, NAVAL AIR STATION, NORTH ISLAND, CALIFORNIA. (a) COST-SHARING AGREEMENT.— With regard to the portion of the military construction project for Naval Air Station, North Island, California, authorized by section 2201(a) and involving onshore and near-shore beach replenishment, the Secretary of the Navy shall enter into an agreement with the State of California and local governments in the vicinity of the project, under which the State and local governments agree to cover not less than 50 percent of the cost incurred by the Secretary to carry out the beach replenishment portion of the project. Within amounts appropriated for the project, Federal expenditures may not exceed $9,630,000 for beach replenishment.
