For salaries of superintendents for the life-saving stations as follows: Lifemvingserv- On the coasts of Maine and New Hampshire one, and on the coast of i<=°· Massachusetts one, at one thousand five hundred dollars each; on the coasts of Rhode Island and Long Island one, at one thousand eight hundred dollars; of one assistant superintendent on the coasts of Rhode Island and Long Island, who shall reside on the main land of the State of Rhode Island, one thousand dollars. For salary of one superintendent on the coast of N ew Jersey, one thousand eight hundred dollars. For salaries of superintendents on the coasts of Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia, one, at one thousand Eve hundred dollars; on the coasts of and North Carolina, one, at one thousand eight hundred do lam. For salary of one superintendent for .Iife·sa.ving stations and for the houses of refuge on the coasts of Songh Carolina, Georgia, and Florida, one thousand two hundred dollars; of one superintendent for the lifesaving and lifeboat stations on the coast of the Gulf of Mexico, one thousand five hundred dollars; and of one on the coasts of Lakes Ontario and Erie, one thousand eight hundred dollars For salaries of superintendents for the lifesaving and lifeboat stations: One on the coasts of Lakes Huron and Superior, one on the coast of Lake Michigan, and one on the coasts of Washington Territory, Ore- ’ gon, and California at one thousand eight hundred dollars each. For salaries of two hundred and eleven keepers of life-saving and life-boat stations and of houses of refuge, one hundred and forty-seven thousand seven hundred dollars. For pay of crews of surfmen employed at the lifesaving and life-boat stations, during the period of actual employment; compensation of volunteers at lite-saving and 1ife·boa.t stations, for actual and deserving service rendered upon any occasion of disaster, at such rate, not to exceed ten dollars for each person, as the Secretary of the Treasury may determine ; pay of volunteer crews for drill and exercise; fuel for stations and houses of refuge; repairs and outfits for same; rebuilding and improvement of same; supplies and provisions for houses of refuge and for ship-wrecked persons suecored at stations; traveling expenses of officers under orders from the Treasury Department; for carrying out the provisions of sections seven and eight of the act approved May fourth, eighteen hundred and eighty-two,and contingent expenses, including freight, storage, repairs to apparatus, medo1¤,Iabor stationery, advertxsing, and miscellaneous expenses that cannot be inciuded under
