J UDGMEN TS IN INDIAN DEPREDATION CLAIMS. ·'“"gf‘°""· _¥"‘““ For ayment of judgments rendered by the Court of Claims in Indian M mu d an depredation cases, certified to Congress at its present session in Senate Documents Numbered Fiity and wo hundred and seventy-five and House Document Numbered Three hundred and fortyeight of this ses- _ sion, forty-nine thousand six hundred and eighty-seven dollars and 2?_f‘;,"f‘;$,},,,_ eighty-six cents, after the deductions required to be made under the provisions of section six of the Act approved March third, eighteen hundred and ninety-one, entitled “An Act to provide for the adiustment and payment of claims arising from Indian depredations," shall have been ascertain ed and duly certfiled by the Secretary of the Interior to the Secretary of the Treasury, which certification shall be made as soon as . practicable after the passage of thi Act, and such deductions shall be made according to the discretion of the Secretary of the lnterior, having due regard to the educational and other necessary requirements of Mm t the tribe or tribes affected; and the amounts paid shall be reimbursed to “"°"’°°the United States at such times and in such proportions as the Secretary Y of the Interior may decide to be for the interests of the Indian service: ,§Q‘;,“,;’n,,,,,_,,,,,g_ Provided, That no one of the said judgments shall be paid until the wu. M- Attorney-General shall have certified to the Secretary of the Treasury that he has caused to be examined the evidence heretofore presented to the Court of Claims in support of said judgment and such other pertinent evidence as he shall be able to procure as to whether fraud, wrong, or injustice has been done to the United States or whether exorbitant sums have been allowed, and dads upon such evidence no grounds sunicient in his opinion to support a new trial of said case; or until there shall have been illed with said Secretary a duly certified transcript of the proceedings of the Court of Claims denying the utnétxion made by the Attorney—General for a new trial in any one of said · j gments. .
