PROCLAMATIONS. No. 27. 905 reservations, and the President shall, by public proclamation, declare the establishment of such reservations and the limits thereof "; And whereas, the public lands in the State of Washington, within the limits hereinafter described, are in part covered with timber, and it appears that the public good would be promoted by setting apart and reserving said lands as a public reservation; Now, therefore, I, Grover Cleveland, President of the United States, w "‘°‘°“· by virtue of the power in me vested by section twenty-four of the afore· ` said Act of Congress, do hereby make known and proclaim that there is hereby reserved from entry or settlement and set apart as a Public Reservation all those certain tracts, pieces or parcels of land lying and being sitnate in the State of Washington, and within the boundaries particularly described as follows, to·wit: Beginning at the point for the south-west comer of Township twenty- ’°“'•°•'*·•· nine (29) North, Range eight (8) East, Willamette Meridian, Washington; thence northerly along the unsurveyed range line between Ranges seven (7) and eight (8) East, to the point for the north-west corner of Township thirty-two (32) North, Range eight (8) East; thence easterly along the unsurveyed Eighth (Sth) Standard Parallel North, to the ' point for the southwest corner of Township thirtythree (33) North, Range twelve (12) East; thence northerly along the unsurveyed range line between Ranges eleven (11) and twelve (12) East, to the point tor the north-west corner of Township thirty-six (36) North, Range twelve (12) East; thence westerly along the unsurveyed Ninth (9th) Standard arallel North, to the point for the south-west corner of Township thirty- seven (37) North, Range seven (7) East; thence northerly along the unsurveyed range line between Ranges six (6) and seven (7))East, to its point of intersection with the international boundary line tween the State of Wa hington and the British possessions; thence easterly along said international boundary line to the point for the un surveyed range line between Ranges twenty-two (22) and twenty-three (23) East; thence southerly along said unsurveyed range line, subject to the proper easterly or westerly offsets on the Ninth (9th) and Eighth (Sth) Standard Parallels North, to the point for the southeast corner of Township twenty-nine (29) North, Range twenty-two (22) East; thence westerly along the unsurveyed and surveyed Seventh (7th) Standard Parallel North, to the point for the south-west corner of Township twenty-nine (29) North, Range (8) East, the place of beginning. Excepting from the force and elfect of this proclamation all lands Prwzdvnlid ¤¤m¤· which may have been, prior to the date hereof, embraced in any legal ‘”‘°°*" ‘ entry or covered by any lawful rilin g duly of record in the proper United States Land Office, or upon which any valid settlement has been made pursuant to law, and the statutory period within which to make entry or Bling of record has not expired; and all mining claims duly located and held according to the laws of the United States and rules and regulatious not in conflict therewith; Provided, that this exception shall not continue to apply to any particular tract of land unless the entryman, settler or claimant continues to comply with the law under which the entry, filing, settlement or location was made. Warning is hereby expressly given to all persons not to enter or make m§n°g;{f°d "°"* *°*· settlement upon the tract of land reserved by this proclamation.
